This handbook was developed by AVSI to support teachers in the Kitgum and Pader Districts in Uganda under the Psycho Social Support Program (PSSP), in their work with children in their schools. It is useful for teachers in other communities as well, especially in adopting a psychosocial approach to teaching and engaging with children. The handbook covers 3 main areas: understanding yourself and others, understanding children and how teachers can help, and topics for further understanding. There is an accompanying Training Manual for Teachers (see Linked Resources section).
